“Music is the shorthand of emotion.” – Leo Tolstoy
Join us for an intimate and heart-warming afternoon of piano music and poetry – a concert that will leave you enchanted by the collaboration of musical sentiment and spoken word.
Wollcon pianists Brad Baker and Jack Mao have created a program of pieces inspired by themes of love, loss, enthralment, bewilderment, and nostalgia. On these same themes, Erin Mascord (Teacher of Speech & Drama) has curated poems and other writings that she will recite between and with the music.

Using the Wollongong Town Hall space a little differently by having patrons on the stage with the musicians, the audience will encircle the piano to bring them closer to the music and poetry, having a clear view of the performers.
The concert will also be a unique opportunity for piano lovers in the region to hear the Town Hall’s concert grand piano. Jack and Brad are particularly excited to present Franz Schubert’s great four-hand piano work, Fantasie in F minor on this powerful instrument.
