Kids HONK! Band

Hosted by Wollongong Conservatorium of Music, Kids HONK! is suitable for school musicians (from year 3 and up) – students learn several tunes, across the two workshops and perform together as part of the HONK! oz Street Music Festival.

Who is it for?

Are you a primary school student in Years 3-6 (in 2022)? (Early secondary is also fine)

Have you had lessons on your instrument or played in your school band for approx. 12 months or more?

Can you play the following notes on your instrument?

• Trumpet / Cornet / Tenor Sax : C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C
• Clarinet : C, D, E, F, G, A
• Alto Saxophone : G, A, B, C, D, E, F#, G
• Flute / Melodica / Violin / Bass Guitar / Trombone : Bb, C, D, Eb, F, G, A, Bb

The Kids HONK! workshop band is designed for woodwind, brass, drums and bass guitar. We can accommodate other melody instruments (eg. violin, flute, melodica etc) if students are comfortable working with the notes mentioned above.
