Please read this document carefully and keep it for future reference. Failure to do so will not be accepted as an excuse for non-compliance with out terms and conditions.

Use of Wollcon services implies agreement to these terms and Conditions.

GENERAL

Wollongong Conservatorium of Music (WollCon) reserves the right to decline or cancel an enrolment in any of its programs, cancel classes or programs at any time due to insufficient enrolments and change the teacher for any tuition at any time as circumstances arise.

SUPERVISION

WollCon is not responsible for students outside lesson times. Parents and/or guardians are advised not to leave students unattended before or after lessons/classes and to make suitable arrangements for drop off and pick up of students as well as ensuring that the student behaves appropriately while participating at WollCon or a WollCon event.

APPLICATION FOR ENROLMENT – NEW STUDENTS

Applications must be made online at https://wollcon.com.au/application-information/.

Applications are generally acknowledged within 5 working days of receipt and places are allocated based upon availability. If applicants are unable to be allocated a lesson time, they may choose to be placed on a waiting list and will be notified when a position becomes available.

ENROLMENT

Enrolment is an agreement to engage the services of a teacher or to participate in a group class at a particular time each week. The enrolment will be for 9 lessons/classes per term, except where the enrolment begins after the first lesson of the term.

An enrolment becomes active once the lesson/class details are confirmed via email by WollCon. An invoice will be issued and fees must be paid in full prior to the commencement of each term.

An enrolment will be deemed to be ongoing unless written notice of withdrawal is given via email to [email protected] (for further information, refer to WITHDRAWAL below).

WITHDRAWAL

Notification of intention to withdraw from lessons/ classes can only be made via email to [email protected], a minimum of 14 days prior to the commencement of a new term.

Failure to attend lessons / classes with the intention of withdrawing does not constitute withdrawals and fees will remain payable.

Fees are payable prior to commencement of lessons/ classes.

Students enrolling in multiple Ensembles or Community Programs will receive tiered discounts, which will be applied to the lower-priced enrolment.

If a payment arrangement is required, a request must be made in writing to [email protected] prior to the commencement of lessons/classes.

If a direct debit payment plan is approved, payments will be taken directly from the customer’s bank account according to an agreed schedule. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that sufficient funds are available in the nominated bank account on the scheduled day. Unpaid instalments may result in the suspension of upcoming lessons.

Failure to pay your fee invoice may result in the student being suspended from lessons/ classes.

WollCon may use an outside agency to recover outstanding amounts, which may include additional charges.

MISSED LESSONS AND CLASSES

Students enrolled at WollCon will commit to attending the full term’s lessons or classes. NB: Classes include Community and other Ensembles and Combos.

Please note: WollCon will provide nine lessons/classes within the ten weeks of the term.

If a teacher is absent during Weeks 1-9 of the term, the student is entitled to a make-up lesson in Week 10. Alternatively, a separate, mutually agreeable time may be arranged between the teacher and family; however, this is at the teacher’s discretion.

There are no refunds or credits given for students who fail to attend lessons/classes when a teacher is scheduled to teach.

Notification of absences from lessons/ classes must be made via email to the office, not your teacher, at the time of absence.

In the case of exceptional circumstances, (e.g. a serious illness, supported by a medical certificate), a Special Consideration request for lesson credit can be made in writing via email to [email protected] prior to the next scheduled lesson.

Exceptional circumstances do not include vacations, out of school activities, school excursions, or similar activities.

REFUNDS

Refunds will only be given at the discretion of the CEO.
