Wollongong’s Steel City Strings Quartet bring you a collection of music spanning 19th Century Sweden to contemporary Australia, in an afternoon surrounded by the inspiring art in the gallery.
The Steel City Strings Quartet will perform a smelter-hot selection of works including the foot-stomping, Swedish traditional Old Reinlender from Sønndala arranged by the Danish String Quartet, Caroline Shaw’s haunting Plan & Elevation, and George Gershwin’s moving musical memoir, Lullaby.
The Quartet members are:
Monique Ziegelaar, violin
Kyle Little, violin
Adrian Davis, viola
Karella Mitchell, cello
“The members of Steel City Strings are outstanding examples of hard work, enterprise, enthusiasm and dedication. They reach for the stars and beyond. More power to these wonderful people.“
