An analysis of ‘Diminishing Species’ and workshopping Student Compositions
The music piece ‘Diminishing Species’ by Jessica Wells, is recommended for HSC study by the Department of Education.
Additionally, HSC Music 2 students are required to compose a 2 minute composition as part of their mandatory topic ‘Last 25 years of Australian Music’.
This HSC Composition Workshop at WollCon (4th June) will help students by:
1) Understanding Jessica Well’s analysis of her piece ‘Diminishing Species’, and
2) Working through their draft composition with Jessica who will be able to provide feedback.
Jessica is an experienced Australian Composer, and we are fortunate to have her join us at WollCon to support music students.
HSC Music 2 students from all schools in the Illawarra, Nowra and Southern Highlands regions are welcome to attend.
