Chamber Music Program

Weekly Rehearsal: Participate in regular rehearsals that foster consistent practice and development. We focus on enhancing skills in leadership, listening, collaboration, and musicianship.

Collaborative Experience: Engage deeply with your ensemble and instructor, benefitting from the synergy of small group learning. Our program emphasises teamwork and mutual support, creating a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere.

Tailored Ensembles: Join a personalised group assembled to fit each participant’s age, skill, and musical interests. Whether you are in late primary, high school, young adult, or a community member, you will be part of a specialised group tailored to you.

Diverse repertoire: Explore a broad range of musical genres, including classical, contemporary, film scores, video game music, and jazz. Past groups have performed works by composers such as Dvořák, Max Richter, Hans Zimmer, Astor Piazolla, Nobuo Uematsu, and Yoko Shimomura.

Performance Opportunities: Gain confidence and showcase your talents through regular performances. Our concerts highlight each performer’s contribution, celebrating the collective achievement of the ensemble.

We warmly invite all instrumentalists, especially pianists, to join our dynamic chamber music community. The program is open to all musicians in the Illawarra community, you don’t need to be a current WollCon student to play Chamber Music!

To ensure a rewarding and productive experience in our Chamber Music Program, we require that instrumentalists have achieved at least AMEB Grade 5 or equivalent. For pianists, a minimum of AMEB Grade 6 or equivalent is required. These standards help ensure that all participants can fully engage with the program’s challenges and opportunities.
