What do you teach at the Con?

What is it that you love about teaching music – particularly at Wollongong Conservatorium?
I love building relationships with my students and their families, and enjoy being a part of building a fun, inclusive community. Making music together is wonderful and seeing the kids light up when they pick up an instrument or learn a new song they love. It is a pleasure and a delight!
Please share a particular career highlight and why it’s special to you.
When you see a student grow in confidence and step out of their comfort zone. When they feel comfortable and safe enough to get up and ROAR like a dinosaur with their peers, SPLISH SPLASH in muddy puddles or hide under the parachute. I love seeing their sense of self and wonder flourish.
What’s one piece of music that you’d recommend people listen to?
Some of my personal favourite ‘Early Childhood’ music artists: Raffi, Casper Babypants, Elizabeth Mitchell & Frances England. Enjoy!
