Music Therapy

What do you teach at the Con?

I conduct music therapy sessions for whole range of clients, in areas of disability, ASD, mental health and ageing. I may also teach a bit of guitar, piano or drums as part of the therapy.

What genres do you teach?

Anything goes! kids’ songs, pop, dance, classical, musicals, rock, jazz, folk, movie and gaming soundtracks, and all sorts of great transcultural musics!

What is it that you love about teaching music – particularly at Wollongong Conservatorium?

Great environment to be in, with all hive of musical activity going on.

Please share a particular career highlight and why it’s special to you.

Getting to play at lots of festivals, including being very busy at the (usually) annual Illawarra Folk Festival.

What’s one piece of music that you’d recommend people listen to?

The Muse – by the Wood Brothers.
