Emerging Artist Series welcomes Hana Lee

There’s no better way to spend your day than with Music and Tea in the Gallery, especially when home grown talent is invited to perform.

‘Dreams & Melodies’ at Wollongong Art Gallery (Thursday 2nd November from 11am), is a FREE ‘Emerging Artist Concert’ by Inspire Music Australia, featuring WollCon student and skilful young violinist Hana Lee with accompanist and piano teacher Jack Mao.

Hana is a previous WollCon Concerto Competition winner (2021 and 2020), a violin student with WollCon’s Head of Strings Scott Taggart, who also enjoys playing in a new chamber music group KSUCI with fellow students under the expert direction of piano teacher Jack Mao.

“I met Jack about 4 years ago when he first started as a teacher at WollCon. It was my first ever Concerto Competition, I was about 12 or 13 and was a really shy student, but Jack was so easy to talk to about music. Every time he was my accompanist I learnt so many new things, little details that really made a big difference to my playing. We work very well together musically.
He’s my favourite accompanist now, so when I was asked to be part of the Emerging Artist Concert series with Inspire Music, he was always going to be part of the performance.”
